The Provincial Archive Win The Edmonton Music Prize

We are very proud of The Provincial Archive, who were awarded the prestigious Edmonton Music Prize last night at an event in Edmonton for their album "It's All Shaken Wonder". The winner is selected by a panel of industry experts from a short list of 10 albums.

The band has just finished a busy month of touring, starting across Western Canada with The Strumbellas and continuing overseas supporting Germany's Talking To Turtles.

Lyon Releases "Cut Me Loose" Single

Following her collaboration with Wolf Saga on a cover of The Strokes "You Only Live Once" which hit the top of Hype Machine last week, Lyon is back with her own new music. Check out "Cut Me Loose", premiered today via her SoundCloud and available for free download.

This is the first new track since her "Indian Summer" EP released last Fall, and a foreshadowing of what you can expect on her new record coming in early 2015. Take a listen, pass it around and let us know what you think!
News Roundup: Northcote, Lyon & The Provincial Archive

It's been a minute since our last update here, but we've got a few pieces of exciting info to share!

Having just completed a great (but COLD!) run across Canada with Twin Forks, Northcote is en route to Europe for their first ever headline tour there. They start in the UK on November 21st, and continue through the UK and Europe until December 13th including shows with Billy The Kid, John K Samson and Broilers.

To celebrate the beginning of the tour, Northcote has released a free EP called "Invisible Diamonds". The release features four tracks - three new ones, and a re-recording of the fan favourite, "Worry". You can download the EP for free right now via NOISETRADE (or in the widget below), or stream it on SOUNDCLOUD.

If you missed it last week, Lyon was featured on a new Wolf Saga production - a cover of The Strokes "You Only Live Once". SonReal Drops "Preach" Video

Traveling across the US for 50+ tour dates gives you a lot of time to explore, and SonReal did just that this summer while on tour with Grieves. The result is this fantastic visual for his single "Preach" shot on-location in over 30 spots across the US - some of them pretty identifiable, some of them not so much. SonReal has long been praised for his next level video content, and this video continues that themes. Take a look above, and make sure to grab your copy of "Preach" now on iTunes, or GooglePlay.

Also as part of the video launch, our friends at Much premiered the video as part of an hour-long video playlist curated by SonReal. If you missed it, you can check the playlist featuring the likes of Meat Loaf, Sia, Beatnuts and Sam Smith HERE.

The Glorious Sons Reveal "Heavy" Video; Announce Trews Dates

Two pieces of exciting news out of The Glorious Sons' camp today!

The Glorious Sons' single "Heavy" has been tearing up the radio charts, currently sitting at #6 after only six weeks on. Today the band have revealed the video for that single, shot in their home town of Kingston, ON. Follow along as each member of the band meets their maker in this menacing video piece above.

In addition to the new video, The Glorious Sons have announced that they will be joining their friends and mentors The Trews on their Western Canadian tour in November/December. Tickets are already on sale, and links can be found on the band's WEBSITE. Of the tour, lead singer Brett Emmons said, "The Trews were my first example of a hardworking Canadian band, sweating it out across the country to make a living in rock and roll. It's an honour to have the chance to finally do it with them."
